Support the Audacity Campaign

The Audacity Campaign is a capital campaign designed to raise funds for Meadowridge School’s Master Campus Expansion Plan. The campaign will raise money for a new:

• High School Classroom Complex (completed in November 2019)
• Great Hall (to be named the Burke Hall)
• Administrative Centre
• Gymnasium & Fitness Centre
• Library & Community Centre
• Fine Arts Building
• Elementary School Art & Music renovations

The Burke Hall is a gathering place for our students. Students above Grade 4 will be able to enjoy their lunch in the new cafeteria, and we will be able to host nearly 1,000 people at one (theatre style) time for celebrations, performances, assemblies, and convocations.

The new Business Centre will allow us to re-locate staff and faculty so that we can re-develop those existing spaces into a new Student Services Centre and the new Library. The Student Services Centre will provide students, teachers, and families a space to gather for meetings, check-ins, and support. It will also be the home of the new spirit shop, student records and an IT help desk.

The new Library will double in size and grow its capacity – allowing us to host over 100 students at one-time compared to the 60 students of our current library. The expanded and enhanced Library will be a place of refuge and retreat but also for collaboration and laughter. There will be added resources, books, and technologies.

The new Athletic Centre will provide additional, well-designed gym space where children can engage in a variety of physical activities, allowing them to develop their physical sense. It will also allow for more practices, tournaments, games, and clubs.

The new Fine Arts Building will be the new backdrop for performances and showcases. With studios, specialty spaces and a 400-seat theatre, the new building will provide our students with an exceptional space to develop their talents in art, drama and music.

The school was founded in 1985 by a group of parents who had the audacious vision to build a private school in rural Maple Ridge. Today, as we continue to grow, that audacious vision and spirit continues to live on. We are developing students who are audacious in their pursuits, grounded in their values and unbound in their potential.

We have been experiencing unprecedented growth and demand for seats in all grades in the last few years. And while we have accomplished much in our current space, the time has come to construct additional purpose-built facilities to alleviate current capacity restraints and fulfill our Master Campus Expansion Plan.

Within the framework of our Strategic Plan, we have an enrolment target of up to 800 students in the next 5 to 10 years. This is a gradual increase, and will allow us to triple every grade from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Yes. In 2008, the school launched the “Building on a Vision” campaign where all donations supported the development and renovations of the entire Elementary building, the front offices and the theatre.

The state of our current campus is a result of the generosity of many generations of families. It would not have been possible without them!

We anticipate the major construction will take 18-24 months once we break ground.

After the expansion plans and budget have been approved by the Board of Governors, our Head of School, Scott Banack will oversee the entire project in collaboration with Brian Spear, Project Manager; Danielle Christensen, Director of Advancement; Julie Bournival, Director of Finance; and a New Building Taskforce made up of parent volunteers with expertise in the building industry. This taskforce will work directly with the architects and project managers to ensure the plans unfold accordingly. All major decisions will be brought to the Board for review and approval.

While we initially planned on doing the construction in phases, we have been working with our architect and project manager to tackle the construction of all the buildings at once. The only building we may not build at this time is the Fine Arts Building, which has a timeline that is yet to be determined.
