School may be out for the summer, but there’s still lots of activity happening here on campus. With an expansion to prepare for and classes starting back up in the fall, July and August will be busy months here at Meadowridge.
Though we won’t be breaking ground until later this year, construction has already started on some of the smaller projects that will prepare us for the start of the campaign. As Mr. Banack detailed in his Community Information Session, all of these projects—those big and those small—slot into the larger building timeline as we work towards adding and renovating six purpose-built spaces for our students and our school.

BC Hydro Electrical Upgrade
Just before summer break, you may have seen some construction happening outside the front of the school. This was for our BC Hydro Services upgrade which will bring more power to the campus. Why are we doing this? To put it plainly, we are tapped out! With the old Pad-Mounted Transformer (PMT) gone, our construction team is now installing the civil (or, underground) structure needed as well as a new PMT and switching kiosk. These new units will be enough to power the school today and as it will be following the expansion.
Middle School Boiler Room
After 26 years, our current boilers have reached their functional life span and need to be replaced. Over the summer, we’ll be replacing these older, inefficient boilers with nine high-efficiency ones.
Uniform Shop Relocation & Renovation
To make room for later construction, the uniform shop has moved to the “gate house”— the on-campus, westernmost home to the right of the driveway. With significantly more space, the uniform shop’s temporary home will be a great place for families to shop and browse until it moves to its permanent home in the Burke Hall.
